What is HoldBytes?
A simple way to make professional recordings for your business phone. You type the words, pick a voice, and download the file. There is no one to book and nothing to record yourself.
What can I make with it?
Voicemail greetings, hold messages, phone menus ("press 1 for sales") and narration for presentations are ready now. More uses are coming.
Which file should I use?
You get both. MP3 is small and works almost everywhere. WAV is larger and is the choice some phone systems ask for. Check your phone or voicemail settings to see which one it accepts, then upload that one.
How do I put it on my phone?
Open your voicemail or phone system settings and look for a place to upload or change your greeting. Many business phone systems have one. If yours only lets you record by phone, play the file out loud while you record.
Can I hear it before I pay?
Yes. Hear it plays the first few lines in any voice, as often as you like, for free. The full recording is made after you pay.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 1,500 characters, which is about a minute and a half of speech. For longer ones, make more than one recording.
Are the voices real people?
No. They are natural-sounding AI voices. Where the law asks you to tell callers that a voice is automated, please do.
Can I use my own voice?
Not yet. HoldBytes does not copy anyone's voice, yours or anyone else's.
What if it comes out wrong?
Change the words or the voice and make a new one. If a recording we made has a real problem, let us know within 14 days and we will fix it or refund you.
How long does my download link last?
30 days. Bookmark the page you land on after you pay.
Is paying safe?
Yes. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or keep your card number.
